Our story
Started with one truck. Still answering our own phone.
Strub Blacktopping & Trucking LLC has been paving in Allamakee County and the surrounding Driftless country for thirty-three years. What started as a small trucking and blacktop outfit grew into a full paving operation — but the way we work never really changed. An owner quotes the job. An owner is on site while it's being built. And if something isn't right, you call us directly, not a dispatcher three states away.
Today the business is run by Chris, Chase and Hunter Strub. Between the three of them there's a lot of blacktop in the rearview mirror and hopefully a lot to come!
We work for homeowners, farmers, business owners, and towns — a driveway gets the same crew and the same prep as a commercial job. That's the whole business model. If you're in the tri-state area we can service you.
How we operate
What you can count on
- Straight answers on the estimate. If maintenance will buy you five more years, we'll say so instead of selling you a replacement.
- In-house fleet and crew. Trucks, paver, rollers and loaders are ours, so schedules hold and nobody's waiting on a subcontractor.
- Licensed, insured, documented. Registered motor carrier under USDOT 632582 with a clean safety record, and certificates available on request. You can also look us up on the Better Business Bureau.
- A clean site at the end. Edges dressed, spoils hauled off, and a walk-through with you before the trucks leave.
- We're not going anywhere. Our yard is on Highway 9 in Lansing. Traveling crews come through every spring; we're here in February too.
Service area
Northeast Iowa and just over the river.
Most of our work sits inside about an hour of the Lansing yard — northeast Iowa, southwest Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota. Farther out for larger commercial and municipal jobs. If you're not sure, call and ask.
